The hunt for the Reservoir

Hunhow knows that beating the Tenno on the battlefield is not enough. If he finds the real body behind the Warframes, he can destroy the whole system with one blow. For that he uses the Stalker, who lives on his hatred of the Orokin, and gives him the Sentient blade War.

Lotus is forced to bring Lua out of the Void. As the Moon returns to the Origin System, the location of the Reservoir is exposed with it.

Why did the Stalker join Hunhow?

The Stalker remembers the night of the Naga Drums as an unforgivable betrayal of the Orokin. Though he has hunted the Tenno for centuries, destroying Warframe bodies never finishes his real enemy. When Hunhow offers him the secret of the Reservoir, he finds the chance to complete his revenge.

The War blade Hunhow gives him carries Sentient power; but the collaboration is not one of equals. Hunhow uses the Stalker’s grief and his doubt about his own identity. The closer he comes to the Reservoir, the more it is implied that the Stalker may share a past resembling the Warframe–Tenno relationship. The possibility of seeing his own face blurs the line between him and the enemy he hates.

That is why the hesitation at the end is not simple mercy. Striking the Operator would also destroy the truth about himself that he is afraid to learn.

The answer inside the dream

When the Tenno reaches the Somatic Pod, they find not the great warrior they expected but a child. The character the player has known for hours as a Warframe is a Zariman survivor connected to that body from a distance. The Warframe takes the child in its arms and carries them to safety.

The return of Lua

Bringing the Moon out of the Void is more than a navigational move. Lua’s ancient halls, the Reservoir and the Orokin records are reconnected to real space. Sentient forces infiltrate during the operation; to defend the secret she has kept for years, Lotus is forced to open the road to the truth for the Tenno.

That the Operator cannot walk when lifted from the pod is the result of a long physical sleep. The Warframe carrying them reverses the roles visually. The body we took for the powerful warrior becomes the protector of a child who needs protecting. Whichever Warframe the player has chosen, the scene means the same thing: the bond continues after the revelation of identity.

Hunhow does not expect the Warframe to act on its own and break the War blade. Even if that moment never states exactly how much will a Warframe holds, it makes a strong case that the Transference partnership is more than mechanical command.

NARRATIVE — When the dream ended, the hero did not take off the armour. The armour turned and carried them.

The scene also hints the relationship is not merely mechanical. The Stalker hesitates over the final blow; he is thought to sense a similar truth about his own nature. And the Warframe breaks the War blade to protect the Operator.

The first waking

The Operator is placed in the Somatic Link aboard the Orbiter, and Lotus asks who they are. The answers chosen shape the Tenno’s personality without changing the foundation of the past: a Zariman child, a student of Margulis, a Warframe pilot.

Remembering Focus again

Waking from the dream, the Operator turns to one of the old Focus disciplines. The choice of Madurai, Vazarin, Naramon, Unairu or Zenurik shapes their way of fighting. These schools are not newly learned magic but the reopening of the Tenno’s suppressed discipline.

At this first stage the Operator’s presence on the battlefield takes the form of a temporary projection of energy; the body is still bound to the Somatic chair. The Second Dream reveals the truth without completing the freedom. That is why The War Within is necessary: knowing who you are is not the same as being able to use your body.

The relationship with Lotus changes too. A silent order of commander and soldier gives way to a face-to-face conversation between mother and child. But the question of why Lotus hid the truth for so long does not close; the tension between love and control feeds the quests that follow.

Hunhow’s attack is stopped; the secret is no longer wholly sealed. The Tenno becomes a subject who can speak, think and meet Lotus face to face.

What did we learn in this chapter?

The Second Dream lifts the game’s first great veil of identity: the player is not the Warframe but the Operator living inside it through Transference. Yet the Operator still cannot move outside their own body. Teshin’s guidance and the Grineer Queens will change that.
